The Wall

Weekdays on Wilshire, the street is packed with food trucks! Abe and I stopped on our way back from my doctor’s office.

After fasting for almost 15 hours, you’d think I’d be starving. But my stomach felt wonky so we went with a lighter choice.

I got a Veggie Wrap with Chicken

Asked for the dressing to be light. I forgot to choose one – I think they wound up giving me Lemon Vinaigrette (I can’t tell though, because it WAS very light!)

Wound up eating half

(By the way, our Funny or Die video is still going strong – keep spreading the word for Election Day!)

Wanted something sweet so when I spotted a Tutti Frutti down the street Abe pulled over.

I prefer these serve-yourself places. Somehow managed to stick to only one flavor – the Pumpkin!

Tried a taste of Abe’s Chocolate and Birthday Cake too

Tutti Frutti is a lot creamier than Yogurtland, and more saccharine than Pinkberry or Red Mango. I liked it, but found it to be almost a bit too artificial tasting, if that makes any sense. It was so megawatt in flavor that I was expecting to get a headache afterwards.

Luckily, I was fine. Had a producer’s session to doll up for and get to, and when I got home, my manager called with another audition to prep for. So by the time I was done with that, I was pretty exhausted from the long day and very happy for leftovers.

We still had quinoa/black beans from Sunday, which I reheated with some frozen spinach. To bump up the protein I added a dollop of Greek Yogurt….

…and some Gerb’s Pumpkin Seeds.

I rarely eat Greek Yogurt savory, but this was delicious! Funny, I saw later that Kath had a very similar lunch!

Abe and I split a Vegan Peanut Butter Pillow sample for dessert – they taste like Heath Bar Crunch. Mmmmm.

I had mine with Coconut Chai Tea, Almond Milk, and Vanilla Stevia

My appetite caught up with me right before bed – haven’t been in the mood for hot cocoa in weeks but it made the perfect accompaniment to this Date Heart Thrive:

As usual, I am overwhelmed by the response from my last post re: health issues. Thank you all – I am deeply appreciative and grateful for your continued support and love. I can’t wait to finally meet some of you at the Foodbuzz Festival in just a couple of days!!!

  1. Aw. I liked Tutti Frutti! I love the texture. Yogurtland is just too “icy” for me, though I like their wide choices.

See you soon, Lynn! Woo hoo!

  2. Ive never seen such a delicious looking food item from a cart. LoL Only in LA! :)
And I have to admit, I’m was already super jealous that everyone seems to have Fro Yo options around them but now that there is pumpkin, I’m so resentful! :)

  3. I love fage yogurt.

Girl, I don’t know how you fast for that long. I am always eating. ha.

  4. I love all the healthy food trucks you have around you!!!

  5. Ahhh I didn’t even know you were going to Foodbuzz!! So excited to see you again!!

  6. That wrap looks so good! I live in the boonies so we don’t have those here, but I think it would be fun to walk up to a group of trucks and get to choose what you want to eat like that.

  7. I’m in class and I really want to watch the Funny of Die video LOL I guess I’ll have to wait until later.
I love all the food on wheels- and healthy options at that!

  8. I agree– some of those yogurt places are very saccharine! The really tart ones, like red mango and pinkberry, are definitely my fave!

  9. I really wish Chicago would get on board with the food trucks! There are a few, but they are only allowed to serve the food, not prepare it. Love the Funny or Die video, IL election issues are so boring in comparison.

  10. Oh, Greenz on Wheels looks great! I work downtown and we only get a few food trucks every now and then, so I hope they come by soon.

I’ve tried Tutti Frutti! They opened one up at the new Santa Monica mall (i think it’s called Santa Monica Place?). I like it, they’re super creamy. But really expensive – I think it has to do with the rent though. I can’t imagine it’s very cheap at all. If you’re ever around Santa Monica and Bundy, try out Twist. That’s me and my husband’s favorite.

Btw, I think I’m finally gonna use the Thai Sabai coupon this weekend!

  11. I saw your movie last night, White on Rice, and thought it was hilarious, quirky, and cute! My boyfriend and I laughed the whole time. Loved when you said “so poetic.” hahaha

  12. I wish we had more trucks like that around here. I’d be all over it.

  13. girl you kill me with those food trucks. that is exactly what i would get to eat too. they are huge and yummy looking. but guess what? we finally got a pink berry here. granted it’s 40 miles away. am i still going? hell yes

  14. Can you believe I’ve never eaten from a food Truck? I LOVE the idea, but the opportunity hasn’t come up.

FroYo and I broke up for November. It’s a test of my fortitude. And my co-dependent qualities. Or maybe just Dependent. I don’t think the fro yo will miss me much :-)

I didn’t know you were doing to FB- it should be so much fun for you guys!!

Holding good thoughts for the health issues.

  15. Omg, I know exactly where that is! I used to gym it up at the LA Fitness in the Variety building!! Wilshire is always crawling with food trucks, gotta love it! My fav by far is the grilled cheese truck, holy yum :)

  16. love that lacma area. i need to try more of the food trucks! i was so anti for awhile but i’m coming around!
