Remember Paleta – the food delivery service I tried this past summer?

Last night I was invited to their Holiday Tasting party

My date Maggie and I arrived on the early side, before the place got packed…

…and headed straight for the desserts

Paleta truffles!!! Was so happy to see them again.

I ate a peanut butter one, along with some kind of fruit pastry…

…plus a fantastic Pumpkin Cranberry Energy Bar – Founder/Executive Chef Kelly Boyer told me they had protein powder in them. Probably why I was full soon after…

…not that that stopped me from feasting!
A Spicy Tuna Pillow with Wasabi Crema – crispy, cold Lundberg rice

Piece of Spanakopita with Tzatziki made from Horizon Organic Yogurt

Then, the buffet…

…followed by a blackout!!!

Hard to see, but I piled my plate with several salads, Pesto Pasta…

…Turkey Pot Pie with a Sweet Potato Crust and Rainbow Chard Stuffed Beef Tenderloin

It was crazy windy outside (which caused the power outage) so the living room was filled to capacity – Maggie and I scored the best seats in the house!

Dark when we left…

…and on the drive home too…

…thankfully not back home…
…at least – not as of 5am this morning! The wind has had me up for the last couple hours so I decided just to get this post up now, in case our WiFi goes out later! It sounds bananas outside.
How are my fellow Angelenos faring in this weather?

Amazing! It was really windy here (in Germany) today, too – weird stuff? It’s so strange to think that Christmas is here – and next Monday I’m flying to London, then on Wednesday back to Boston! Crazy!!!
Paleta looks delicious, though. They should head over to the East Coast and make it college-kid affordable. Or an alternative meal plan?
You go to the BEST good events. I am endlessly envious!
Agreed!
That looks like a food delivery service like no other. Seriously.
Aw man! That looks so tasty! It’s making me hungry, but thank goodness lunch isn’t so far away.
Yum, the food was so good.
Our courtyard is a MESS right now! All sorts of debris, what a wild, windy night!
That food looks really good..is it a delivery service?
And it felt like there was a hurricane here in Huntington Beach!
yes! here’s more info about them! http://theactorsdiet.wordpress.com/2011/06/28/paleta/
Wow that you had a blackout at the event! I live/work in Pasadena, so today was just an utter mess with all the power outages, downed lines and trees, and debris everywhere imaginable… glad I decided to go to work early!
I was there! Sad we didn’t meet each other! Such delicious food and it looks like you were there before the power went out! Lovely to be introduced to your blog through the party! Cheers & Be Well!
thanks, erin! glad to see you studied at integrative – that’s where my buddy/frequent blog contributor christy went:

That wasn’t LA wind — that was Oklahoma tornado wind! Lights are out everywhere. Luckily we didn’t lose power either, but man, it was scary driving home last night.
this stuff looks amazing! wow i would love to have them cater anything
the wind last night was nuts! i didn’t lose power thankfully but a lot of my friends did.
I’ve heard about the winds on the news…scary! Glad you’re ok.
